In my part of the world at least the fire siren is activated for all calls the fire dept. runs. This includes crashes, gas calls, rescues, haz-mat calls and of course fires.

Here in Ontario County, NY, they test all of the fire sirens on Monday nights around 7:30.

I can't find any thing that says that the P-10 has been replaced, but I know that Ginna has replaced a few P-10s that had died.
