Here in Ontario county NY, sirens are tested on Monday nights. Most fire departments also do noon tests as well.

In my part of the world at least the fire siren is activated for all calls the fire dept. runs. This includes crashes, gas calls, rescues, haz-mat calls and of course fires.

All Sirens in Ontario County, NY are used as Noon/Fire sirens.

Maybe its just the way the camera was looking, but the pole the siren is on looks to be quite a bit taller than the other poles in the back ground!
