Re: basically a 3 shroud model 5

That is a Fedelcode Type Mach. 1. Not to be confused with the tiny Model 1 which is an entirely different siren. This one is from a short lived lineup of Fedelcodes made around 1929 which included this siren along with the dual rotor Type Mach 3, 5 and 10.

Re: Can somebody tell what siren is that?

Likely a locally produced siren based heavily on a Denver Duplex.

Re: Any Coded or single tone SD-10s to exist?

So, it isn't a modified STH-10? Absolutely not. An STH-10's rotor/stator is much larger than an SD-10's, and wouldn't fit in an SD-10's housing. Plus, the STH-10 has circular cutouts around the stator ports which the Monmouth IL siren lacks. It's unknown what siren makes up the core of that siren.

Re: Any Coded or single tone SD-10s to exist?

That thing is not a prototype, nor is it even a Federal by the looks of it. The rotor/stator don't match anything Federal ever made, and looks more to be a siren built out of various different parts including an SD-10's housing.

Re: Model D Branded as a H.O.R. Siro-Drone

It's similar in appearance to a Model D, but it isn't a Model D and has no Federal parts. It's a Siro-Drone Type 87, which is 7 port instead of the D's 8 port and is only 1/8 horsepower.

Re: Mystery Omni-Directional Siren my Uncle collected

I'm floored anyone tried to run that thing when it's that heavily damaged. That's a rotor explosion just waiting to happen!

Re: Do’s and don’ts for sirens

DO NOT harass municipalities or fire departments asking for their sirens or to set them off. Remember, "No" is a full sentence and you're not going to get anywhere by being obnoxious. If you're kind, polite and patient, you're more likely to succeed. Being rude about it gives our whole com...

Re: Mystery Omni-Directional Siren my Uncle collected

It's definitely not a Mach. 10. Mach. 10s had absolutely massive 24-inch rotors, far larger than this siren. For it to be a 5OC, it'd also have to have dampers or formerly had them. This siren looks to be a typical Type Mach. 5 to me.

Re: ASC T-121 in Hartford, WI and ACA Screamer S-10 in Neosho, WI.

The Screamer S-10 uses a slightly smaller rotor/stator assembly than the Banshee. The difference is only an inch in diameter.

Re: Dutch Flat, CA - What is this?

Still the wrong dimensions and doesn't remotely resemble anything ASC besides the horns. Which again, there are 6 horns on this siren meaning it can't be a Tempest.
