Savanna Army Depot Siren System

Hello all, I have recently started looking into more army base-type siren locations. I am currently working on the Savanna Amry Depot located in well Savanna Illinois. Currently, there are only two sirens that have already been found. The first siren is a Darley model 5 (inactive) and the second is ...

Re: Mystery siren in Weldon, IL

Confirmed transformer bank. The town of Weldon has one T-128 and a different mystery siren near the village hall.

Looks like an S-5 Screamer to me.
Yeah, I would also say that this looks like an S-5.

Re: "Discreet" vs. "obvious" sirens - which do you prefer?

I would say that I like discreet sirens more. Discreet sirens give off small-town vibes which you don't really get with obvious sirens. For example, I own a discreet siren ( Federal Model 5) from an old fire station in Uptown New York. Sometimes identifying discreet sirens can also be challenging wh...

Re: Unknown Fire Truck Siren.

Not a modified Sireno. This is a Federal Signal model WGW, mainly used for fire trucks and military vehicles.

Model 5 Motor Help

Hello everyone, I have recently been trying to figure out how to replace the bearings on my Federal Sign and Signal model 5. I have not been able to get at them though. I tried to take the motor apart by removing the long screws at the bottom of the siren, but it did not seem to work. The bottom mot...

Re: "Canadian" Federal sirens

The last picture is definitely a Federal Signal model 5/7. Not so sure about the other ones. In a way, the other pictures look like they could be some sort of H.O.R. Siro Drone siren.

Re: Skokie Illinois Model 2

Update: I was able to get some photos. These photos confirm that the siren is an older Federal Electric model 2.

Re: 2001-130 in Chicago

It seems that I have found another 2001-130 in Chicago. I was taking the Metra downtown when I spotted a new 130. This is new because I remember seeing the old SRN in its spot. The new siren is located by the intersection of N Avondale Ave and W Addison st.

Re: SirenCon™ 2023 Official Information Sticky!

I want to bring my Model5B but I've no idea how we would even get it out of the car if I did bring it. It's probably about 400 lbs. Any ideas? It all depends on what type of car you have. I have a Dodge Grand Caravan and what I usually do is strap down my model 5 on a two-wheeled dolly and walk it ...
