Cessnock Local Government Area Flood Sirens

On April 21, Lightningfun64 and I ventured to the Hunter Valley Region to visit the flood sirens in Cessnock, Abermain and Weston. We photographed all four while discovering Weston’s fire station being demolished. Cessnock Council/LGA purchased four SiRcom SiBT-500 sirens and installed them all in S...

Re: Post the most epic sirens picture(s) you have!

These would be my most favorite shots of all time. Albury Civic FRNSW's Grifco 888 during sunset! :D

So apparently Grifco still makes sirens. Is the 999 still in production?
Bump. The 888 MK2 and 999 were in production until ceased around 2006-07. So no, Grifco today doesn't associate with sirens anymore ever since they were bought by the Chamberlain group.

I recall the IL siren map saying they’ve been inactive for a while. The park rangers ran them until they died and then didn’t maintain them anymore.

Ah, that's a shame. I wonder if there's any videos of them functioning?

Illinois Beach State Park WS-3000s

Been a while since I've really been on here, but does anyone know if the two WS-3000s still work at the Illinois Beach State Park? I've heard the rangers still use them for announcing park closures.

Re: Random Whelen WPS-3000 in Vicksburg, MI

Seems like there's a good change it may be active given the FC. I guess the only way to find out if it really works is recording it. Maybe setup an audio recorder hidden somewhere nearby and wait for it to go off?

I'm not too sure if this is a siren pole but I have a strong feeling it is, if anybody knows please correct me.
Do you have coords for this siren? It's quite a long road.

Skil Sher Wailing Joe & Grifco Siren Tests

Hi all, I recently visited Lightningfun64's place again and had some fun testing the Wailing Joe for the second time. I also got to see Lightningfun64's Grifco 555 for the first time. We also had a siren battle to see which siren was louder which was a lot of fun! We even recorded the siren battle a...

Re: What kind of controllers did Vogtle 3016's had before the T-128's replaced them?

There’s nothing different with these controllers internally. I’m pretty sure the compartment above the board is an external radio box. I’m not sure if Whelen still offers extra battery and external radio compartments. An example could be Tooele UT’s 2800s. To identify the three types Type one is sim...

Re: Vintage siren photos thread

Bump.

Contributing from all the way in Australia. Here's two Grifco 777s in the 70s/80s down south of Sydney. Photos are annotated.
