Unknown Siren

I am not too keen on electric sirens. I would like to know what this unit is and what a fair price would be for it. Many years ago the Port of Oakland took this to a shop to have the motor rebuilt. After it was done they never picked it up as they had decided to replace it with a new unit. Any answe...

It took me over two years of meetings with the Preservation Council in Oakland before they let me remove my siren. I paid for the entire removal. The paper work, insurance, crane, crane operators credentials all had to be in order. They worked with me. I never felt it was an uphill battle. I just ta...

SIREN FOR SALE ON EBAY

Below is the number of a siren for sale on Ebay. It appears to be in Oakland. If anyone is interested and needs someone to take a closer look, I work in Oakland and would be happy to check it out.

I am not certain that I concur with the assumption that this siren would maintain full power at lower RPM's. The output of a supercharger is determined by the engine speed. I have a Mustang shop and we install a lot of modern superchargers. They do NOT put out much in the way of pressure or volume u...

I have the manual for my 1953 Chrysler. I have neither the time nor the ability to convert this to a pdf file. It is a very large manual. If anyone needs any specific info, I would be happy to look it up, though.

Can anyone tell me what this little guy is. I believe it is 24V. When I connect it to a 12V battery it is really weak and the red lamp in the middle is very dim. I haven't tried 24V yet as I did not wish to damage anything. Jack http://www.flickr.com/photos/44679835@N00/4088188000/?addedcomment=1#co...

This is the siren from the Woodminster Amphitheatre. The one from the school mysteriously dissappeared. We actually run this thing quite often. Next time we run it I will try and remember to post it to this board.

Chrysler Siren on White Holly Boat

This is a run we did on the White Holly after our show. We had the siren pointed at the barge that was going to shoot the fireworks show for the club after the boat parade. They were 2 miles from us. Our noise over ran their radios and they had to delay the show until we stopped. Lots of fun. Jack h...

We did run the Siren again at Burning Man this year. It opened my show for the "Rocket Launch". http://www.time.com/time/video/player/0,32068,41033406001_0,00.html I am in the process of converting the electrical system to 12V neg ground. Currently it is 6V pos ground. A real nuisance to d...

It most likely did indeed go to scrap. I have been in business in Oakland eight blocks from that siren since 1974. I know all the crane companies around here. We just can't account for the operators that are employed by the school district. The Oakland School disctrict had been taken over by the Sta...
