Re: Does a Thunderbolt RCM have to have 240 fed through it or can it be 120???

MOstormchaser is right. All coils are 240 volt along with the agastat coil. They should be 240/480 coils actually. You would have to change all the coils to 120v/240 coils to run them on 120. You can look at your coils to see if they are 120/240volt. Maybe they are but that would just be the contact...

Re: Sirens Removal Question

I can't imagine that company taking the time to actually "destroy" a thunderbolt when it could simply be sold to a scrap company. Then the scrap company could do whatever they want with it. I'd think they would have to be paid for their time to do that and who would be paying them for that...

Re: Problem with Thunderbolt AR

The AR and AF timers don't output any power. They are only timed switches. The uploaded diagram is correct for a simple timer activated circuit. With the timer not cycling, disconnected, and all power turned OFF push TEST and see if you have continuity between 1 and 2. The test switch simply closes ...

Re: 1964 Civil Defense Matching Funds Siren List "The List"

Evidently those high numbers of small sirens are vehicle sirens.
They could be used to alert in an attack.
LA has 200 type 611s listed.
There is an error listing in Texas. Port Arthur is on the list twice.
Where is there a horn-less STH in Grand Prairie?

Re: Thunderbolt 1003A help and pictures.

The sheave is the pulley. Called either or. The bushing goes around the shaft inside the sheave.
I just need to know the diameter of it as long as it's the original that was on the original three phase motor. Looks like it's almost as big around as the motor itself. Thanks

Re: Thunderbolt 1003A help and pictures.

Hey quantum! What is the diameter of your blower motor sheave? I know someone with that type of blower (less motor) and they need the sheave diameter. If you have time can you measure it and reply with the outside diameter? Thanks Eric

Re: Post the most epic sirens picture(s) you have!

I consider these "epic" because I actually thought to take the pics at the time. This siren was about 2 years old when I took these pics in 1980. http://www.civildefensemuseum.com/lhtbolt1crop.jpg http://www.civildefensemuseum.com/lhtbolt2.jpg http://www.civildefensemuseum.com/lhtbolt3crop...
