Post Throwback Videos here

Here's a video I've been thinking about today - one of the old Franklin County, OH Whelen 3016s in voice operation for an actual tornado warning in August of 2006. Post your best throwbacks below; criteria is five years old or older!

Oh my god, thank you for posting that video. I tried to find it again a couple years ago, but never could.

Here are a couple.

My favorite throwbacks of mine are probably the Okarche videos.

Here's the only siren recording I've made that's over 5 years old, and the first one I made ever. This is the 10V in my profile picture, recorded from the house where I grew up exactly 3.0 miles away as the crow flies from the siren. The siren doesn't have a testing schedule, but sounds as a fire siren, and in this case it was for rescue operations after a flash flood hit downtown.
Though it was so faint and distant, even from 3 miles away that 460hz wail penetrated the house and reverberated eerily. I could hear it in a windowless room in the middle of the house. Hearing it at night while in bed sent chills up my spine many times.

Sirens have been recorded and heard since the 1970s. Few exist from the 70s and 80s but the audio from them is very creepy and they sound like the end of the world.

Can't forget Derek Thompson's videos when speaking of throwbacks. Gotta love the ambiance in this one of the 1003s in crazy high-low!

In terms of my videos, this was one of my first (and very beginner quality) recordings of a 3T22 sounding for a fire call. Unfortunately, this siren was abandoned in place in 2015 due to complaints. Such a shame because it sounded very healthy!
