Don't know offhand when I recorded these except the one was a drill day. Sorry for the shot of the car vent in that one, as I was en route when they started the sirens.

The FS 2001 at Carmen and Waushara (near Walmart) in Marshfield was replaced within the last year or so with a FS 508.

Also the FS 2001 at Slumberland Furniture on the south side of town didn't rotate during the tornado drill.

Hmmmmm. The 508 that was installed in Spring 2013 has had lots of rotator problems but I think it is good now. The other 508 on the southside of La Crosse was installed in 2015 and it has had no problems at all. Interesting how that 2001 has that problem.

I just realized I put a bad title on the topic. The 508 is fine, it is just the 2001 with the rotator issue.

Is the 2001 a newer 2001? If so, then it likely has the brushing issue

IIRC newer 2001's should not have this problem. these can be noted by an extra FS sticker in the upper corner of the back housing. If it does not have ths extra sticker, then it more than likely had the bad bushing.

I should visit this one again on a test day to see if this persisted and look for that sticker. I've seen in the city's plan that they are planning to replace a couple more sirens in town, including the 2001 by Dairy Queen on the south side, closest one to where I live. Hoping to get pictures or video of the replacement process when it happens.
