Sentry 3V8-H Failure Hokah, MN

Fri Jan 03, 2020 12:09 am

I have been having bad luck with Sentry sirens! I have shot 2 Sentry's (a 10V and this 3V8-H) and both of them were fails! I shot the Sentry 3V8-H in Hokah, MN and got a fail!! Around 1:03, tones came in and I was to hear fast DTMF tones that sound like telephone dialing. Houston County MN changed their radio system. We think the antenna that reads the tones for this siren was not able to pick up the fast tones. The radio system is changed is because the Sentry 10V in La Crescent, which is North of Hokah, got changed to a new pole and the old controls from the ACA Hurricane that the 10 V replaced. When they changed controls, they changed the radio to work with those new controls. Preston talked with Rick from ECS about it, that’s how I know. ECS expanded to MN also as far as I have heard. Even though this siren test was a fail, we still did get some good ambiance from the 2001-130 in downtown Hokah.

Enjoy the ambiance:
