Salem Hope Creek Nuclear ASC T-121 Quarterly Test - January 7th, 2020

Tue Jan 07, 2020 9:23 pm

Went back up to the Salem Hope Creek nuke plant system for the first quarterly test of 2020; this T-121 (#224) is located along Summit Bridge Road outside of Townsend, DE. Sirens sounded on schedule at 10:45 AM, and this one was definitely punchy just as the other T-121 in this system that I recorded back in July.

Salem Hope Creek tests their sirens on the 1st Tuesday of each quarter (January & October- 10:45 AM, April & July- 7:20 PM).

Is that a Owl on top of the siren?

It’s a decoy; likely placed due to a bird problem. I’ve always thought it was an awesome touch; all 71 T-121s around the plant have one.
