N/A Siren Productions Video Dump

Mon Jul 13, 2020 1:54 pm

It just occurred to me that I haven't posted a lot of my videos here, so I figured I'd just dump a ton of them here.

To start off, we have Annelise's recording of the Mackinaw Island STH-10 doing its daily noon test. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DqNrEmQZsQ

Next, my recording of the ACA Screamer S5 in McBain, Michigan sounding at 12:03. It's extremely quiet, leading me to believe it's either reverse wired (go figure), or the intake is clogged or blocked. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct3x9rfVCgc&t=1s

Next - Annelise and I met up in Beaverton to record their 1930s Type B sounding for the daily 6 PM test. It blew the Screamer out of the water. Behind it is one of Gladwin County's 2001-SRNBs, which are tested on the last Saturday of the month at 2:00 PM or something like that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsFu_1gR7j4&t

Skip forward to December, and you've got my recording of one of Consumers Energy's Modulators. I recorded this on a morning when I was supposed to be in school in the middle of a pretty bad snowstorm. To get to the siren, we had to travel down some dirt backroads, luckily they were in pretty good condition and we were able to make it out there. CentralMiSirens was out there too, it was cool to meet another enthusiast! This was pretty loud, but not ear-splittingly so. I walked pretty close to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMlOPnl7vDw&t

Then, we have Annelise's recording of the former SJC of Michigan - Isabella County! This is the infamous 4004 at Pickard and Bamber that indirectly replaced a Whelen WS-1008. Said 1008 is still standing and can be seen in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zwh3w9XWRg&t=2s

Ah yes, Michigan SWA 2020. An even more disorganized mess than usual. I'd had my eyes on this STH-10 in Fife Lake for quite a few years ever since I learned it sounds off for SWA. Since the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled my plans of doing The Big Rapids Incident 2: Electric Boogaloo , I stuck close to home and recorded this thing. It was loud, it was fun, and it also introduced my new editing software and style. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZdijE0KR3M&t=1s

This is the PowerShot video from the STH test. I no longer record video with this camera, as I've upgraded to another. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7lYbIPh_sw&t=1s

Here's an audio recording of a siren in Michigan's New SJC - Clare County! At least 3 sirens are known to not work at all, the system's all out of sync (City of Clare sirens will sometimes do signals for longer than the rest of the county, do 10 seconds of each and do the full test, and a lot of other weird things). This siren was not fully functional for the longest time, but after I called the EMA about this siren, it was returned to foll working order. At least this system isn't as broken as SJC - yet! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Z1Yv5UcJCg&t

In case you missed it, this was the first documentation of one of the Thunderbolts in Big Rapids, taken during the Big Rapids Incident of 2019 , more commonly known as SWA. Since this video, I've refined my editing technique, how I act a siren test, and that laggy memory card has since been rightfully destroyed. https://youtu.be/BPguKomaoTU

FInally, we have the first test of my Sireno Model UA 24V Vehicular siren. It was run on 12V for this test, and I'm hoping to get a 24V battery or power supply for it soon. Can you believe this only cost $40? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXDeFP2GCE0
