Re: Vintage siren photos thread

I wonder, does anyone have a map of all of the old Dallas Thunderbolt installations? I think it would be cool to cross reference the photos to the map and see if any of the sirens in the photos still exist.
The answer is yes.

Didn't you mention in a previous post that you looked at the 1974 Dallas Siren map on my site? http://www.civildefensemuseum.com/siren ... index.html
Isn't that a map of the old Dallas Thunderbolt installations???

I must have forgotten about it.

Last week I was looking at a Hawaiian Electric book from around the early 90's and I spotted this yellow SD-10 in the background. This siren was replaced back in 2008 by a Modulator 3012.

Wow, amazing pictures here! I have a photo from the 1960s, where you can see the siren in my village, which was dismantled in 1999. I apologize for that quality, it is only a scan.

The siren is in photo no.11, that means it's in the middle of the picture.
This photo is the only one I know of where you can see the siren. If you want to know, how the house looks today:

I'm looking for a clip where it's visible better, but I'm pretty sure there is a Model 5 on top of the City Hall in the movie Children of The Corn. The town where it was filmed in is Whiting Iowa. They now have a screamer at the firehouse nearby.

These photos are great you guys. Didn't know where you guys find them. And no if you don't want to tell me where you got these photos it's ok. I understand. I'll probably find my city of Naperville Illinois old siren system photos or photo. It's not a guarantee though.

Found this old picture of the Hillcrest Fire Dept. in Binghamton, NY. I have no idea what the siren is. Perhaps a Model 5 or something with a custom housing. Now they have a newer station with a Model 2.
