Alert Systems, Incorporated

I happened upon some stories about this a long time ago while researching something else and finally decided to compile the newspaper articles into something readable. The gist of the story is that in late 1979 an early electronic siren manufacturer was selected to install their first system in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. They went over-budget and went far past the deadline, only for the system to not meet specification. The system was removed and the company disappeared from history.

Here's a more detailed look if you'd like.

I believe they predated Whelen in the electronic siren market. I've also contacted Loudspeaker Components Corp., who manufactured components for the sirens, asking for information. I'll keep you all posted on that bit.

Also, friendly reminder that the wiki does exist! PM me or VASirens on the forum or speak with us on IRC if you'd like to contribute.
