ACA Sentry 95.

Were these actually produced in sizable numbers? Are there any pictures or videos of one in the wild? Or do you know where one is installed? I'm also interested to know the technical details of a Sentry 95 if anyone might know.

It's on ACA's ad from 1968, before Sentry Siren was around(technically they were since Sentry was Sterling back then, but still). Unless, it was a re-brand of a Sterling design maybe???

"Sentry 95"

The Sentry 95 was made by Klaxon Ltd. of England. It was a small 5-6 port siren meant for industrial centers or other locations where a bigger siren would be too much. Its name bears no connotation to the Colorado based siren company. Instead it draws back to the old term "Sentry" in regards to a soldier stationed to keep guard. A little baby guard siren.
Jim Biersach added a fiberglass disc to the siren, and included it with all his other designs.
I do not believe the Sentry 95 made it into standard production since no ACA literature mentions it besides the 1968 brochure cover.
ACA later sold standard Klaxon sirens and horns throughout the 1980s.

This siren in a previous thread is not a Sentry 95. It looks like a Decot Engineering siren with a different hood. There are many more ports than just 5-6. Despite this, its tentative identification as a Sentry 95 snowballed out of control by the time Cassville's siren was recorded. At the time, there just wasn't enough information available besides the aforementioned post.
Cassville's siren is not a Sentry 95. It sounds like an 8 port siren, similar to those made by Federal Electric and Sterling. Close up photos of the siren could help identify it.

There's no point in condemning anyone who was wrong in the past - there are a lot of old ARS posts that are wrong, not because anyone wanted to purposely throw out misinformation but because no one really knew better at the time. It's best to simply keep researching and discovering all that there is to old civil defense sirens - even if it takes a long time.
