What sirens does everyone own? Tell us below!

Sun Jan 12, 2020 9:06 pm

So I've been curious for a while now what sirens everyone owns, I know it's a common thing for enthusiasts to own sirens but I've only met a few people that do. List your collection below! I personally have a 1987 Thunderbolt 1000-A, 2 federal IC/S254 ship sirens (5 and 13 port variants), and a federal model D.
Very proud owner of a Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1000A, a Federal Sign & Signal Model D, a Federal Sign & Signal STH-10B, and two Federal Signal IC-S2S4s (5 & 13 Port Variants).

I have a Thunderbolt 1000AT that came from La Crosse, WI. It was replaced in August 2011 after it was disconnected around 2009, then it was removed in August 2011 then we got it at an auction. We still have our Thunderbolt to this day since August 2011. I also have the RCM and AR Timer from another La Crosse Thunderbolt that got removed in 2015.

I own an MS-190. It's not much, but I enjoy playing around with it. It also annoys people

None yet, and not sure I will. The only reason I would want one would be to make it into an interpretive museum display which I would donate to a museum or other relevant location. For example, my town's Sterling is 98 years old and still running strong, but when the day comes that they decide to retire it, I hope to make a deal with the VFD and our local museum to make an informational display for it.
Architecture preservationist. I enjoy obscure history and mapping things, and grew up around sirens. Not planning to own one.

I own a federal sign and signal STL-10. I purchased the siren from west shore services, and replaced the single phase motor since it was fried with a three phase motor that archon had. I gave archon my ACA screamer s-10 as a thank you for the motor. (Note I got the s-10 from west shore services also, it was on it's way to the scrap yard)
Happy and slightly confused owner of a STL-10, Whelen wps-2905, Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1000, and a Federal Enterprises Model-2

I own a Federal Sign & Signal STH-10 it doesn't have a motor it was like that when I got it. The original motor for it was shot and was tossed. The motor was 3 phase which I plan to get a single-phase motor instead. I also own a Federal Enterprises Model 2 with a motor that needs to be fixed up before it can power up. I got the model 2 on eBay from Buffalo, New York. Then I have a Federal Sign & Signal Model D 24V works great and also got it from eBay.
Proud owner of:
• Federal Sign & Signal STH-10
• Non-working Federal Enterprises Model 2
• Sterling 2v8
• '86 Federal Signal Canadian Model 2-3Z
• Federal Sign & Signal Model D

Question: if I want to eventually purchase a thunderbolt to run with the blower on occasion, what would I need to look into in terms of electricity. I currently have access to 120 volts for the chopper and rotator but I’m not sure how I would run the blower
