holy crap, now that's the lowest 2T22/3T22 (look to be a 2T22) I've seen. And here's the runner up

it's only 15 feet off the ground. to give a prespective on how low it is, here's a full shot of Station 141

I can say from personal experence is very painful from across the street when it's running.

Why didn't they mount that 3t22 /\ on the peak above the bays?
Would have looked better there, too.

Lassie, our 2t22, gets the award for the lowest mount because she is on a 3-foot high mobile home step/landing platform.
Buth.is temporary.
From there, one can feel Lassie's breath as she howls.

I agree there. I'm going to suggest to the EM director when/if he instals a new sirens there, they it either be pole mounted, or mounted over the bays. On a side note as of today, the 3T22 is still there, and ready to "sing" on Saturday.

I'd like to be there for her song.
This Saturday I test Lassie commencing exactly at 18:00:00 CUT.
Again, I'll try to make video to post here.

That thing is just down the road from me. Jackson County has most of their sirens mounted low. The one behind the fire department in Jefferson is in a hole. It's in the parking lot, which is down in a valley. It's in the lowest part of town. The main road goes up past the FD and uphill towards Arcade. You are eye level with it then you rise above it. I bet it hurts.

im thinking that the 3t22 in ct was put up when the staion was smaller. cuse the building looks a bit diffrent so they just didnt want to rewire the hole thing when they built the new half.

And that Whelen has one heck of a strong tower to be sitting on. that things gona be standing for a while.
