My Homemade Siren, the "Storm-Seeker"

Fri Jan 26, 2024 6:54 pm

It's basically a Bluetooth speaker with a cup taped to the front of it, with the ability to rotate thanks to a K'nex motor. Mounted on a pole from one of my Halloween decorations. It's in my basement by my desk, as I'm still checking, finding, and fixing any flaws in the design, and testing it every once in a while. But once March comes around, it's going in my backyard!

The sound output on this thing is actually pretty good for what it is, from 10ft. away I got a reading of 84 dB. All videos of this at full volume will recorded once I put it outside in March

Here's some videos from my YouTube channel:
1: https://youtu.be/7OoN7iAvj7Y?si=9jX-p2rF6_LfEbDz (For the first video, the microphone was being weird, and it wasn't on full volume)
2: https://youtu.be/hek_OrwOZ24?si=EkpYx8cGmAmtxvGM (Also not at full volume)

WOW :o
Plot Twist: As of 3/9/2024, it refused to turn on for it's weekly test, so I'm going to give it about a week to see if it will start back up on it's own, however, I may need to come up with something else...

Edit, 3/14/2024: Unfortunately, due to the rain damaging the battery, now I heed to have a portable charger ready to power the speaker
Oh well, could've been worse!
