If you're comfortable with 120v and have a bit of spending money, these motors work really well for sirens. Me and a few others have made very real sounding sirens with them.carolinasignalco wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 7:07 pmthe biggest problem with the clm is i will have to build amother dual shaft 775 and getting a second shaft to be sraight and true is really hard as i learned with the 40v2t
First, grainger is a huge ripoff there are the same motors for 1/4 of the price on SpC. im fine with working with 120. but i tend to buy ready made collector rings and they are rated for 24v so... also i have built a modular pwm siren controler that can do yeow (not very well), hi/lo and pulse with no dampers because i can break the motor.= by programing the controller to short the wires i dont think i could build a very controlable siren with ac unless i was using a frequency drive (yikes those are like $500)...Zarlog wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 8:50 pmIf you're comfortable with 120v and have a bit of spending money, these motors work really well for sirens.
