How Close Can I Install To My House?

Wed Feb 21, 2024 1:33 am

I just bought a new Federal Model A-120.

I'd like to use it as a security siren for my property. For example, if somebody breaks in, it will sound off to not only alert the trespasser, but neighbor's too.

That said, I'd like to install it under my rear patio roof, that way it will have some protection from the elements. Is that too close to the house though, for a siren as loud as the Model A-120?

My other option, is to install it on a post, away from the house.

Having it under your rear patio roof *should* be alright. Obviously you wouldn’t want to be standing directly under it, though.
A British siren enthusiast. Previously lived at the furthest point from any sirens before co-discovering one very close to where he is located. Also features a great discomfort referring to themselves in third-person.
