Strange siren on top of Rochefort (Belgium) Fire Department...

Hello everyone
I'm not new from the community but I don't talk a lot, but I read a lot, ahah, I love sirens since 2013-2014 or something like that
But, that's not the subject, so, I'm Belgian and we don't (obviously, we have, but they are inactive since more than 20 years) we don't use sirens since a long time but.. In my trip to Reims (in France) I was in a van with my grandfather and he noticed my keychain of a Klaxon CS8, and I talked him about my love for sirens and he telled me that, in fact, there is a siren in Rochefort at the Fire Dept. and so, I took a trip to the fire dept, and saw this thingy, and I don't know what this is but obviously it's a siren, it's not a vent, there is a motor on the top..
But, what model it is? It looks like a KM Europ siren without the horns but I don't see more informations of it since sirens are pretty rare here, does someone have an idea? Thanks!

it almost looks like one of the CTI Omnidirectionals like the ones in Okmulgee.

it almost looks like one of the CTI Omnidirectionals like the ones in Okmulgee.
I think it is... Is it still active?

By design the French KM Europ sirens have the same stator layout. Also note that, unlike the CTI, it is bigger and has less ports- looks to have 8 which is inline with the KM siren in France.
I agree with the OP that it's a KM Europ siren with the horns detached.

I agree, definitely looks like a KM Europ siren (or some other french manufacturer) without the horns attached. Definitely not a CTI... this is Belgium.

Now that I think about it, I don’t thinks it’s a CTI either.

The KMEurop sirens have a cage underneath, that one looks to be a older model (I can't remember the manufacturer's exact name unfortunately, but I know it was based near Paris).. Too small to be a KMEurop.
Either way it's certain that it is a much older unit, which predates the Finsecur-KMEurop that is well known.

Yeah I definitely thinks it's a KMEurop since it's so close to France, and by the way this old beast never fires up since 2000 or something

Here's a picture of a Finsécur/KMEurop (KMEurop got bought out by Finsécur recently) 1kW unit. It's very close looking to the unit but not quite. This particular unit is located in my hometown and hasn't roared to life in months. (last time I heard it was in February, after it sat inactive for 5 years or so)
Notice how the 1kW unit has a taller cage, I have a hunch that the unit you saw was a smaller, earlier model (to my knowledge only KMEurop/Finsécur's sirens have a rotor placed upside down with the motor on top).
Your unit might be a smaller single phase model. It's quite bizarre that they didn't put the horns on it

Horns are useful for projecting sound out, however removing them may make the siren louder in the nearer area.
Sentry has a 3V8 (no horns) and a 3V8H (horns) for this reason.
Thats' the main reason I can think of for the hornless setup.
