That siren is located in Raleigh, NC over Shearon-Harris lake that serves the nuclear power plant. However, I'm not sure the exact location, nor do I know if it also serves as a flood siren since Raleigh also has a couple dozen EOWS-115's for that purpose.

That is by far one of the worst setups I've ever seen. If that shore line ever washes away, that siren will go tumbling into the water. It's also mounted way too low - the nearby trees will muffle the sound.

 Wow, if it did sink, then thats got to be the softest ground anywhere!

You thing you can get a closer view of the thing? Poor 612 :(

Edit: I got a tad bit closer view & it appears that it DON'T rotate, but from the view that (whomever) took this shot makes it hard to tell.

It's a man made lake with no currents so it's not going to wash away. Also, the siren is meant to warn the lake exclusively (it doesn't rotate) so the trees aren't much of a problem. It's definitely one of the most unique siren setups I've ever seen. There was a larger picture of that siren somewhere...

That's one strange EOWS configuration...

Yeah, I think I remember seeing the picture over two years back.

Still, a very weird setup; solar-charged, too!

It sank..? Nah, but perhaps it should...

I can categorically state it is NOT part of the Raleigh Flood Warning System (18 sirens, yes, EOWS-115's, with MCP120 controls) (PM me for more info.) None of the Raleigh FWS are anywhere near Shearon Harris NPP.

Could this have been replaced during the recent upgrade from Thunderbolts, to Whelen?

And not sure but what there isn't a building in the background behind the trees there, eh?

Who can provide a better location?

Do you know when Raleigh tests their flood sirens?
