It depends on how "formal" you want to be with documenting it. You could use the bare minimum and just bring your phone and a tripod, if not a rock or brick or something to keep it stable. If you want to be more professional with it, a camera and tripod, along with hearing protection if you don't want to risk having hearing damage and maybe another camera or drone for a more interesting video (or even videos.) Scanners for activation tones also seem to be appreciated among a large chunk of the community, however, that's completely optional just like a second camera or drone.
