Tornado warnings in the area! Sirens near my house went off around 5:00. Right now, I’m hearing other sirens in other zones. Hamilton County now does 3 minute activations with 7 minute intervals. My part of town must not be a big threat right now.

Good thing Hamilton County conducted a test yesterday...

I am on the border between Warren and Hamilton Counties and am hearing T-128's. Those sirens definitely pack a punch!

Did anybody get tornado warnings alerts on their smartphones? I'm surprised I didn't...

Anyway here is my video from the first activation. I believe this is the first time Hamilton County activated sirens for a weather emergency since the downtown sirens were activated in 2015 for a severe thunderstorm during the MLB All-Star Game festivities, and the first tornado warning activation since Fall of 2013.

Andy, I get alerts from EMA and local 12 via text and through an App CodeRed. And they all worked today!

Ok, that’s good. But I didn’t get the usual iOS alerts like we have for tornado warnings in the past, but more commonly for flash flood warnings and Amber alerts (also President Trump’s National Alert.)

I got all three Hamilton County activations, as well as the Clermont County activation. I'm almost certain I saw a funnel cloud as well: the radar signature matched what I saw at my location in Anderson Township. I'll post a link to the video once I edit them all together.

Here is my video of the tornado warnings in Hamilton and Clermont counties yesterday:

I finally did verify that it was a funnel cloud that I saw.

Here’s a brief story from Channel 9 about the different siren activation policies across the tri-state.

According to HCEMA’s website, they will activate if a tornado is spotted without a warning.

I was down in Northern Kentucky when the warnings were issued. I got notifications on my phone (both an emergency alert and from various weather apps) about both the one for Boone County and the one for Kenton. Also heard the 2001 right by Crestview Hills Town Center sound shortly after the Kenton County warning was issued.

I also noticed this week that there's an old Model 5 on the Point Pleasant fire station off Turfway Road in the Florence/Erlanger area. I'm assuming that it's inactive like most of the old NKY fire sirens are these days.
