no kidding?
thats good to hear. I remember driving past it going to mount hood to ski year after year, but then when they got the new firehouse it disappeared. I never expected to hear that instead of scrapping it they hung it inside the building!
definitely going to check that out if i get the chance soon.

I was also able to confirm that they hanged it inside the station. If you look at this photo here, you can see the 3T22 painted in red hanging from inside the entry way of the station. Glad they preserved it.

Looks nice! The main house in Aberdeen, MD did a similar thing by hanging their old STH-10A from the ceiling. They took it down because they were remodeling the fire department. Honestly I think they should have mounted it in the tower next to the department.

Very nice to see! I always admire stations who preserve their sirens in ways such as this after taking them down, as opposed to discarding them. They are a piece of station history after all.

I know, unfortunately I forgot to update my original post after I went past the station and saw it. I also called the Carlton station, and they said they had restored the Sterling and were actually waiting for approval to install it at the new station! The Carlton PD is planning on preserving the Model 5 there too.

Bump, but during some research of this siren I was able to find a video of it activating on Facebook before it was taken down.

I found it while making my map (EDIT for clarification: I was trying to find media for it on my map). You're welcome!
