So I have been making many trips down to Sauganash Chicago Illinois to take pictures and just regular check ups on there inactive Thunderbolt 1000. This Thunderbolt was installed like many others in Chicago during the late 1950`s. The Sauganash Thunderbolt is one out of the remaining four Thunderbolts from Chicago`s old system that are still standing. I do not know what faze it is but I believe that it might have a 4m blower. The siren was replaced by a 2001-SRN a few blocks away, probably during the 1980`s. The Thunderbolt stills sits in its same position slowly rusting away. I have tried a couple of times to get this siren but due to Covid-19 CPS (Chicago Public Schools) which the siren is on Sauganash Elementary School had to close and the whole process of trying to get this siren had to stop, but anyways well this siren is still up anyone can view it from the sidewalk.
