Ex-Seattle, WA Decot in Zillah, WA?

Sat Sep 04, 2021 10:38 pm

This strange siren questioned me for a while since I found it (sometime in late July). My best guess for this is an Ex-Seattle Decot, since they had quite a few of these early models (another example of this is in Darrington, WA, also possibly an Ex-Seattle) along with some Thunderbolts and Chryslers.
I don't know if still used. I still can't quite put my finger on it, though.

These are not Decots. They are Scream Masters. That was solved five years ago.

I'm sorry to have to say this, and I fully respect your opinion so please don't take it as me bashing you (since it is not my intention), but I do not believe that the siren in question is a Scream Master at all personally. I can understand why someone would think that, given the shape and all, but the little details do not match such as the very bottom of what I can only assume is a shroud. I'm personally of the opinion it could be a Decot, but that is just me. What would solve this in an ideal world would be someone going to the town and paying an in the field visit to it and getting good photos.

I should be going to see it next weekend. I don't know if I can get good photos, though. My camera isn't that great, but it still can zoom in FAR!

Oh no it’s fine to disagree. I’ve always been very much of the impression Decot was upper Midwest only. Is there any evidence they sold outside of there? They never were a large enterprise operation.

I will do some research on that! I will also be going to the Darrington "Decot" sometime mid-fall. I will look at the motor and see if there is a tag (even a non-readable tag at this point) on the motor stating the manufacturer's company.

Pretty much all of the information I found was either stuff like "SEATTLE TO GET 5 MORE SIRENS", which gave no information on the manufacturer and/or the model. However, Seattle apparently had this:

A scream master in washington? Scream master are not little sirens like the one on the original post... so no, it's not a scream master, they look very different

It's pretty difficult to say exactly what it is, but just look at the two pictures I've uploaded they look almost the same
