Interesting Robert, but the KR scanner happens to stand out against the Trans Am's pop-up headlights

But I do have to say, anyone purchasing a KR scanner in the name of using it for a Emergancy light, has to be insane. The scanner, when using 55 watt halogen bulbs (which have been known to melt the red lenses) are horrid against the car's electrical system. You can't go very long without some sort of recharge before th lights will ultimately drain the battery for everything its got.

But now you have to think Robert, some departments don't like the idea of having to cut and splice the vehicle's wiring harness just to put in a control board and 2 relays (that's for all cars other than the Ford Police Interceptor which has plug and play capabilites). This is because it lowers the value of the car and not only that, if done incorrectly, water can seep in and damage the wiring.

For the Interceptor, they have slots under the dash for headlight and taillight wig-wag controllers. All others are cut and splice.

Clear headlights are much brighter than red filtered light.

I'm talking about catching visual attention - not comparing something
we're already looking for, or at.
That's the whole purpose of EV lights - to catch the UNEXPECTING eye.

A vehicle's charging system should easily handle thextra draw of additional bulbs. 5 x 55w = 275 watts = 21.5 amps (unless load
is already near alternator capacity)

Aren't wigwags made really easy to install and remove?
Ya just access the wires at the headlights?

Mine are all homemade, so I don't know about pro stuff.

Oh, you knowhat is better than wigwags?
ALL ON/ ALL OFF.

I installed a switch which changes wigwag to flashing ALL ON/ALL OFF.
It makes a big differencespecially on bright days and at night when
headlights are on.

But, "ALL" is more of a shock to the vehiclelectrical system.
(But I don't know if the system notices or cares. The battery should
absorb shocks.)

I stay in wigwag unless traffic ahead is not.icing far enough ahead.
Then ALL often makes a noticeable difference and I do not need to sound the siren!

Just read your Aug 13 "blue dot" post.

Hey, anyone ever notice the strange purple light of some brake lights in the distance?
Recently saw one on a motorcycle.
When we got close, discovered it was a nickle-sized blue lens inserted in the middle of the red brake light cover.
Close up you see red with the small blue lens.
From a distance you see a striking strange purple color from the whole light!
Neat effect. Not sure how legal it is.

Is this still allowed now-a-days?
Where can we purchase them?
