Re: Accidental Siren Activations

Oh boy!

The only one I experienced was Sugar Hill, Georgia's Sentries going off accidentally on the day of the SWA drill in 2014 at like 6:10 in the morning if memory serves me right. I did catch an audio recording on my old iPhone 4S. If I run across it I will upload it.

For historical accidental activations, Atlanta was pretty much a ten a pen deal. I'll probably elaborate on them later.

One of Sacramento’s Scream Masters malfunctioned and went off for 20-30 minutes or so back in 2006.

...I guess it would be o.k to bump almost year later....
Here in Topeka, Shawnee County Kansas, Sunday December 22, 2019 aprox. 11 a.m . I was not in Topeka at the time, rather spending a Christmas vacation in Colorado with relatives, ..... a notification popped up on my wife's phone from one of the local television stations is how we found out. According to the news story "An accidental activation occurred during an exercise" I find this somewhat hard to believe.

Does accidental activations elsewhere than USA count? If so then, I've got two:
  • Paris (date unknown): Siren activated because of a short circuit. Unfortunately that's what I only know about that.
  • Gouvieux (8th of January 2020): the siren (pictured below) started up at 12:00, it ran a full test cycle, there was no all-clear signal issued. It felt so bizarre to hear it again after it sat dormant for God-knows how long
