Thats a GCS Model 3 housing placed over a box, with the chopper/stator assembly mounted sideways inside the box. Photo credit 4j25. Located in Selma, WV.
I believe you mean Selma, VA?
Also that's a fantastically weird find! Any knowledge, theories or conjectures about how it ended up like that? Why would someone turn a vertical siren on its side?

Another from Arkansas. I am unsure if this is even a siren. If it is, it seems to be a Model 2 with custom shroud.

Definitely a siren if mounted on top of a pole like that, and at a fire station. Though I can’t see control boxes, which could have been removed or are mounted inside the station.
I think I saw a wire going into the building.
Edit: Nope. It was just hooked up to the poles.
I still post here, but not as much as I used to.

Any idea what this is?
Not a siren, but I've seen them floating around New Jersey while looking on Google Maps. Anyone know what those things are?
I have a thing for objects that light up or make noise.

Maybe if you had bothered to read the next post down you'd have your answer.

I am 80% sure this is a Fedelcode Model 5QC.

nope, thats a GCS Model 5 with what appears to be the top part of a Federal Signal Model 5 housing.
Are you sure? I thought I saw a Fedelcode logo on it...

Maybe I'm not seeing right, but the bottom louver appears to be conical and slanted down far, so I'd be willing to bet the base is a Fedelcode.

Yeah I saw it too. I went there on several field visits and that siren is definitely not some sort of GCS siren. It's definitely a Fedelcode of some sort. My money is on a Model 5QC or just a 5.
