Deer Park's Other siren?

Mon May 18, 2020 4:22 pm

I finally called the deer park fire department (it's a joint service with Silverton) and asked them about testing the old deer park siren (the sterling M10 I won't shut up about).

The fire chief asked if I was talking about the old civil defense siren (unknown) or the siren used to call the firemen (the M10).

I know the Siren on the Silverton city building was taken down when it was renovated, and I don't think the jungle Jim's thunderbolt is in their jurisdiction.

From what I was told I thought the sterling was their civil defense siren.

Does anyone know what siren he's talking about?

Hmmm.... I could look for you.
I have a thing for objects that light up or make noise.

I got off the phone with Tom camp, the former fire chief and a city councilman. He said there were two sirens, the M10 and another one on the other side of town. He thought the one was a federal signal if that helps. The siren on the Silverton city building went down when the building it was on was rebuilt. I'm not sure if that's the one he was thinking of because that's Silverton not deer park.
