A siren explodes during testing

What model is it, I really want to know as it said more about the injured than the actual siren.

Reminds me of the video where an STL-10 blew up during testing.

Probably had a casting flaw. Decot had a large pit that he would lower each siren into for testing just for the this type of failure. Asc has a similar sound-proof enclosure

....As far as the explosion goes, would this be along the same lines as a clutch exploding in a manual transmission during high r.p.m's such as in a racing environment.

It was a Bullard siren.

Many years ago, speaking with one of J. N. Hedberg's workers, they had a big siren, like the ones in my avatar, where the rotor/impeller maker had ran out of metal for the casting, had to melt more metal, then finished the casting. It also exploded during testing.

So we obviously know that nowadays it is E.D. Bullard, but something struck me as a bit weird here. If you look closely, you can CLEARLY see that it says: "W.D. Bullard". Could this be an error when it was written, or does this mean that it originally stood for something else?

I had noticed this myself. I have a feeling it was a missed typo.

On most keyboards, the E key is right next to the W key. I'm 99% certain W.D. Bullard was a typo.
