I found a Klaxon electronic siren (not sure which one I struggle to identify them still) on the roof of this Evans Vanodine building in Preston

Interesting to see an American siren mounted on “Broadmoor” style tower. Makes me wonder if there are further undocumented sirens in the Immingham area?

Before I forget, as recorded in my latest video, two Klaxon FP10s can be heard on the North Morcambe Terminal site in Barrow. Their exact locations are unknown, but there is probably one either end of the site.

Well the FP-10 and FP-8 in Phillips 66 hasn’t yet, just from where I was standing alone I think the sirens were here:

FP-10: (53.6319231, -0.2517897)
FP-8: (53.6304812, -0.2496758)

That seems about right. When do the Whelens get tested?

Past years have had tests of the Community Sirens on the 15th/16th of every second month (Jan/March/May etc) at somewhat random times. From what I've found, dates are published in local residents' calendars, but not online.

No, the Klaxon SS6 is not a Sentry 95...

I noticed that there is a strange, raised step on the roof of one of the old guard-houses for what was once RAF Carlisle. This guardhouse is of the exact same design as the one at Kingmoor Park, which has a Tri-Tone Gents installed upon it in the exact same spot where the raised step on the roof is. This leads me to believe that this step may have once been used as a mount for a siren, the siren since being removed. Aside from this guesswork however, I realise that this does not directly prove that there was a siren once here, however it would have made sense, as the single remaining Tri-Tone could not possibly be expected to cover the full military site.

The step on the guard-house roof is located at 54.94074910887051, -2.9727589822140152, and can be seen in this video (https://youtu.be/kNFs5YYDALo?si=tuv5lEyYnLZuZYms&t=254) at 4:14.

For those interested, there is also a third identical guard-house in what is now the Harker Industrial Estate, located at 54.93898425706515, -2.9540861477374687.

Found an air horn of some type at the Calor Gas storage facility in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, seems to be used as a warning there for if something goes a bit wrong, or at least according to the COMAH search website.
