San Diego Siren Locations Found!

Fri Jun 16, 2023 10:06 am

I have spent over a year trying to document San Diego's now gone civil defense system, I have made a map of locations I've found using old street view videos on the city clerk youtube channel.
Hurricanes may work, but doesn't mean they're good....

That's cool, do you perhaps happen to have the link to the map?
Just a dude who has a hobby of sirens.

I am trying to find an answer to this question: During the Cuban Missile Crisis in October, 1962, in Chula Vista, California, the air raid siren went off around 2:00 a.m. Does anyone have any information about that incident?

Thanks for linking the air siren map in San Diego area. This is interesting to see! The Bonita air raid siren is the closest to our house, but still about 4 miles away and down in the valley. It seems possible that Chula Vista had other sirens of their own - none shown in the city. Since it is a separate government from San Diego, perhaps their records weren't easily tapped.
