8 inches if I remember correctly? Don't take my word, I'm going off memory. I'll get you some measurements tonight.

Whoa, 8 inches? So I CAN 3D-print a full-size Model 2 then! Good to know :)

I mean i you're going to 3D print an entire Model 2 it'd probably be best making the housing out of metal. Plastic does not tend to the elements kindly if you're going to be mounting it somewhere outside.

I would also be wary about trying to make a 3D-printed Model 2 run at full RPM with a chopper of that size out of 3D-printed materials. Model 2s run at over 6000 RPM and that puts a lot of strain on the chopper. There's a reason Federal makes theirs out of aluminum, the material needs to be able to take the repeated stresses without cracking or even detonating. I worry that at that scale the plastic might not hold because it's nowhere as durable as aluminum is. (And on another note, it'd take a huge printer and an obnoxious amount of filament to print a full scale siren like that)

This is good stuff to consider.

I have an Ender 5 Plus, which has about a cubic foot of printing volume and an insulated enclosure, so I print stuff with ABS or ASA all the time. The bed has a printable area of about 12"x12", so I should be able to print a rotor and stator no problem. A 1mm nozzle would make the printing go faster, but yeah, it would take a lot of filament. It's a pretty big print after all :P I may have to split up the bigger pieces like the motor stand into chunks. Federal Signal's website says the siren is a little over 2 ft tall with the enclosure.

I didn't know the Model 2 spins at 6000 RPM. I don't think household pedestal fan motors spin anywhere near that fast, and that's what I've considered using. It makes me want to print the thing, put it in a pit outside, and get a 6000 RPM motor for it to see when the printed plastic grenades  I guess there's a reason why the thing uses a 2 horsepower motor after all.

I mean, there’s different types of model 2, like there’s the federal electric single tone huge ones and there’s the FS dual tone ones. But I’m not sure if theres a chopper size difference

The 2 and 2T use the same diameter rotors/stators.

The 2T runs at 5000 RPM, and the regular 2 spins at 6000 I believe.

Not to derail the topic too much, but all Model 2s usually run between 6000-8000RPM, and it seems like some of the early ones run faster. My '54 Model 2 runs at around 8200RPM. Here is a 2T that runs particularly fast, probably from the same era:
