By the horn, it's very likely an older Sterling M-10. If you can find any pictures of a side view, It would be easier to tell if it was a Sterling M-10 or Y-10.

Here is a picture of one: (credit to amtrak3501)

most likely an m-5
Just to let you know, the real model of these is the "Sterling Model M".
I know, I wanted to be specific though

Sipex made a post on here, as well as other places, detailing that the “M-X, N-X, and Y-X” naming scheme enthusiasts came up with are misnomers. All of the horizontals are known as Model M’s, regardless of horsepower or number of heads (aside from the Sterling Code Siren).

To expand on this to make it clearer:
Sterling "M-3" "M-5" "M-10" and "N-5" ---> Sterling Model M
Sterling "K-2" "K-3" "K-5" ---> Sterling Model 3V, 3VX, 5VX and 7.5VX/Sterling Vertical Siren
Sterling "Y-10" ---> Sterling Code Siren

I recommend doing some reading on the wiki about these.

It's not that big of a deal. Think of it as a nickname. It means the same thing, no need to get all bent out of shape if someone calls it the wrong name
Sirens may not be sexy, but they sure work.

It’s not a “nickname”, it’s an incorrect term. In other words, false information.

it's just a model m, and it looks 5hp, so I called it an m-5

You can't tell what horsepower an M is by visuals alone. Only by what the motor tag says. "M-5" is never correct.
