I’m 99% sure they weren’t but were the garland ACA hurricanes coded? Because the only ones that I know were coded were the South African prototype, and the one at the FD in rolling meadow's.
No, the Garland units were not coded. However it has been rumored that the La Crescent MN Hurricanes were coded since they sported longer horns.
Their horns are exactly the same as any other Hurricane horn…

Rumored to be. Some also speculate they were very early units

So much stuff is being made up in this thread with nothing to back it up and you all need to cut it out.

There’s nothing unusual about the LaCrescent Hurricanes.

Actually, BananaSalad is correct, if you look closely the horn does look to be longer, this has been something other enthusiasts have stated as well.

There were a couple more Hurricanes in Normal Illinois. One of them was in front of Parkside elementary school which seems to have been replaced by a T128. There was a photograph of it somewhere on the web.

oddly enough it seems to have been removed and didn't have a replacement until the T-128 was installed, if you find the image of it that would be appreciated. You can also see the siren in 2003 satellite imagery!

I went on historic aerials and it only shows up in 2005-1998? I’m pretty sure it is there but I don’t see it.
