Unless the motor has been changed, this siren can't be european. All sirens in Europe, France as well, use AC squirrel cage totally enclosed motors (IP 44) with connection boxes.

There used to be a CTI at the Beaverdam, VA Fire D.E.P.T on Beaverdam Rd. But it was removed sometime in September 2009 and no sirens ever replaced it, It was the same siren in the first photo, that's all I know so far.

Well good to know it's still around lol. Did you take the picture? If so, could you get a picture of the rotor sometime? I want to see if it resembles anything made by other manufacturers.

I'm not sure how many of y'all are actively following this topic, but I figured I would share an interesting observation that someone in the Facebook group pointed out.

In 2004, this omni-directional model was introduced. The rounded stator ports bear similarity to contemporary Federal and ASC fare, however it is not a total match. There are no particular specifications for this siren. If one looks carefully you can see the motor housing is a cube shape - an unorthodox choice.

In the siren archive, there's a picture of a "mystery siren" at Ochelata. Tell me what you think...

If only there was a better picture of the old siren in Ochelata. A 2T22 stands in its place.

I can't remember who it was that pointed this out, but the resemblance is definitely there.

I'd say the only problem is that the dates don't quite line-up (as, according to the picture, it was taken in 2003), unless either the picture is dated wrong or the siren came out earlier than previously thought. It's also possible that it was a "prototype" version that had been installed, to see how well it'd do in service.

I noticed that right after I made the post lol. I left that out hoping someone else would notice and possibly provide more insight. I wondered about the possibility of a prototype also, and the beacon on top is interesting as well.

I don't think something like a mechanical siren will have a beacon. This 'addon' seemingly common on electronic types.

But is there really a mechanical siren with a beacon on top, other than this?

[Fixed typo]
