Yeah, that's Plymouth's only roundback (as far as I know...I don't drive around the northeast part of town much at all). It's on a tall, brown steel pole for whatever reason (the rest of our 2001's are on wooden poles).

Wayzata, MN (the suburb bordering Plymouth on the southwest side) has a 2001 roundback behind the KFC near the intersection of CR-15 and MN-101.

Your hometown is Plymouth! I have cousins that live off of Dunkirk Rd in Plymouth and I always wondered what sirens they had. This past easter, while leaving the city, by a Target store, I saw a 2001 DC? on the freeway shortly after passing Target. My grandparents live in White Bear Lake and Every time we go there, I snap a pic of the Thunderbolt at the fire station at County Rd E and McKnight road, closest siren to their house, Id HATE to see a 2001 at that station as much as i like 2001's. Nice info!
Yeah!

Was that 2001 on I-494? That's the only 2001 next to a freeway in the entire northwest metro. There's a 2001-SRN next to the freeway just south of the interchange of I-394 and I-494. That's actually Minnetonka's siren, but I drive by it quite often!
The 2001 located off 494, just south of 394, replaced a square-horned Hurricane around 2000. I drove by it many times. Minnetonka had two square-horned Hurricanes up until that time.

Yes, St. Paul has had their 2001-130's for just over a year. The Thunderbolts roared for their last time late last spring (2012, monthly test). I haven't heard much about how they're working (reliability), but I would imagine things are going fine. They got a HUGE grant from FEMA, which I think covered everything besides removal of the old t-bolts and STH-10's (maybe even removals as well)...

Minneapolis has been replacing sirens as they fail with 2001's for some time now. I really doubt that they'll install ASC sirens, as a fair amount of their system (maybe 25-35 percent) is 2001's. It would make more sense to the politicians to install the same make of sirens as they have been installing as replacements; they've also had great luck with their 2001's performance-wise, so there's no way they'll be installing anything non-FSC, but they might "reach far" and get 508's.

St. Louis Park used to have 5 Thunderbolts.
(1) located across Excelsior Blvd from Miracle Mile, right next to a water tower that has since been torn down.
(2) located on 26th Street & Dakota Avenue (Dakota Park).
(3) located on 34th Street & Wyoming Ave, at the park.
(4) located at 26th St & Natchez Ave, at the park.
(5) located in the Westwood Hills Nature Center, near Franklin Ave.
Most of these were replaced by Thunderbeams in the late 80s or early 90s. The location (1) was a TB 1000, single-toned, but the rest were dual-toned.

Edina had a variety of sirens in the 80s. I tape recorded a few of them in the early 80s. At the time they had these:
(1) Allertor – off of Eden Ave, right behind Jerry’s Foods.
(2) Allertor – Valley View Rd & Gleason Rd.
(3) Allertor – Pamela Park, 58th St, right next the tennis courts.
(4) Allertor – Cornelia Park, Cornelia Dr & 72nd St.
(5) SD-10 – Valley View Rd & Hansen Rd.
(6) SD-10 – Dewey Hill Rd & Gleason Rd.
(7) Super Banshee (possibly) – Dewey Hill Rd & Cahill Rd (I used to see it often and heard it go off, but I’m not sure what model it was.)
I think there was another SD-10 around, but I’m not sure where.

Bloomington had at least 3 Allertors in the 80s and early 90s.
(1) Just south of Old Shakopee Rd, between Hampshire Ave & Brunswick Ave.
(2) Bush Lake Rd & 106th St, on top of the fire station. (This one was black and can still be seen using google maps and switching the timeline to 2007).
(3) Off of Hwy 169 & Bloomington Ferry Rd, across 169 from Jerry’s Foods (This one was light blue).

There was a Thunderbolt on top of the old Montgomery Wards building. It was dual-toned, not single-toned like the other St. Paul Thunderbolts. I was in the parking lot when it went off during a tornado warning in 1983 or 1984.
Sorry about all the trivia. When I tell non-siren enthusiasts about this stuff, they just roll their eyes.

Richfield had another blue Allertor off 66th St & Cedar Ave, right behind the Richfield Liquor store. I recorded this one years ago. Richfield also had a P-10 (or P-15, I'm not sure) off of 68th St & Logan Ave, right next to the tennis courts. It was single-toned. If you google map this location and view it from 2011 or 2007, you can still see it. It was a very pale blue color.

Excelsior had two Whelens (I don't know which model. I just remember seeing them many time in the 80s). One was located on Water St, right off of Hwy 7. And the other was located on top of the Tonka Bay City Hall on Manitou Rd.

Mound had at least two Allertors. One was at Devon Ln & Leslie Rd. Another roof-mounted on a building located at Shoreline Dr & Commerce Blvd.
These were glorious times.

And Hopkins had 1 Allertor & 2 Thunderbolts.
-The Allertor was located behind the Honda dealership off Excelsior Blvd & 8th Ave, right next to the railroad tracks. At the time, there was a Knox Lumber there, not the Honda dealership.
-One of the Thunderbolts was located on St. Louis St, right next to Minekahda Storage.
-The other Thunderbolt was located off of 15th Ave N & 7th St N, right next to the Hopkins Water Treatment Plant.

Both Thunderbolts were dual-toned. I lived in various parts of Hopkins in the 90s and got to hear them all many times. I tape-recorded the Allertor in the 80s.

There were several nearby Thunderbolts in Minnetonka as well.

-One was located at 2000 Hopkins Crossroad, next to a school.
-Another was located on Minnetonka Blvd, right by Minnetonka Public Works.
-Another located on Excelsior Blvd & Woodhill Rd, on top the Glen Lake Activity Center - it was single-toned if I recall.
-And another was located on Baker Rd & Lake St Ext.

Just a few blocks north down 494, between Minnetonka Blvd & 394, there was a square-horned Hurricane on the East side of 494.

There was another square-horned Hurricane that I recorded in the late 80s right off Hwy 101 & Excelsior Blvd.
