And Hopkins had 1 Allertor & 2 Thunderbolts.
-The Allertor was located behind the Honda dealership off Excelsior Blvd & 8th Ave, right next to the railroad tracks. At the time, there was a Knox Lumber there, not the Honda dealership.
-One of the Thunderbolts was located on St. Louis St, right next to Minekahda Storage.
-The other Thunderbolt was located off of 15th Ave N & 7th St N, right next to the Hopkins Water Treatment Plant.

Both Thunderbolts were dual-toned. I lived in various parts of Hopkins in the 90s and got to hear them all many times. I tape-recorded the Allertor in the 80s.

There were several nearby Thunderbolts in Minnetonka as well.

-One was located at 2000 Hopkins Crossroad, next to a school.
-Another was located on Minnetonka Blvd, right by Minnetonka Public Works.
-Another located on Excelsior Blvd & Woodhill Rd, on top the Glen Lake Activity Center - it was single-toned if I recall.
-And another was located on Baker Rd & Lake St Ext.

Just a few blocks north down 494, between Minnetonka Blvd & 394, there was a square-horned Hurricane on the East side of 494.

There was another square-horned Hurricane that I recorded in the late 80s right off Hwy 101 & Excelsior Blvd.
Do you still have the tapes? I never seen an ACA Hurricane SH active before.

Unfortunately I don't have any of the tapes. At the time I had no way of knowing there would be a siren website like this one day. I wish I had taken more pictures and preserved more recordings. I thought I was the lone siren enthusiast.6

BTW, the square-horned Hurricane sounded just like the round ones. It had a really fast wind up and a slow wind down

Hi, do you know what Hugo, MN's old siren system? My friend said they were STH-10's but I'm not sure.

If, by some small miracle, you happen to find one of those tapes, I can think of a couple people that would probably pay good money to hear them.

On another note, do you know anything about Golden Valley's old system?

Do you have a video or any info on the Thunderbolt 1003 in Bloomington? When was it installed?

This my map of the the Twin Cities Metro I have mapped out. All of Saint Paul's Siren where replaced with 2001-130s so some locations of them have changed as well. Minneapolis Siren are all Mapped out. all the sirens in Minneapolis are going to get replaced sometime this year. Brand and Model of siren is still unknown at this time.

That post was made in 2013, and the author hasn't logged in since 2018.
