Here you can post pictures and videos of Minneapolis's old system.

Here is a video posted by JPa311979 of a Thunderbolt at E. 27th and Longfellow:

You could just post any of his videos, since he's filmed most of the Thunderbolts, LOL.

I mean while this topic is fresh, why not. Here is the Thunderbolt on top of Field which I now own. One of the video's is more stable with not so good sound quality, the other isn't that stable with good sound quality.

Personally I think Minneapolis had the best siren system in the entire USA, I mean they had all A1 4/5 port Thunderbolts (With some 2001's mixed in there, which leads me to believe that there once was a 4/5 port sitting where the one of many 2001's were, but once the Thunderbolts started breaking down they just slapped a 2001 on it). But now we have Whelen Vortex's, but since those are my favorite "new" siren, I'm not complaining. But I sure do miss hearing those Thunderbolts.

That is the same video I posted. It is my favorite of all of his Thunderbolt videos as that Thunderbolt was a perfect harmony of sounds.

Here is the Thunderbolt that was on top of Sheridan School in Northeast Minneapolis. This one was unique as it sounds like it was on level 6 with somewhat bad bearings when really it is on level 2 or 3 with a reverse wired blower.

There was also a Banshee somewhere in Minneapolis at one point according to the siren archive. If there was I never saw it or it was replaced before I did. All I can say is I sure miss hearing the epic 4/5 thunderbolt symphony, Soundmaster 115's (I live in Columbia Heights) and all of the other stuff from my backyard on test day. Now all I hear is Whelen vortex's and 2001s. Oh well, at least I am happy that Minneapolis went with something other than 2001's. Sure would have been cool if they used Sentry sirens though, especially 40V2T's.

The Banshee was actually in the suburb of Roseville. It has since been replaced by a 130.

Was it a single or dual tone model, and when was it replaced?

Do you recall seeing an Allertor in the mid-city industrial Minneapolis area? It was on top of 2112 Broadway St. NE. I've never seen or heard anything on the Internet about that one. I used to see it when traveling down 35W. I think it's been about 10 years since it's been there but it was unmistakable.

Side note: I drove through there earlier this or last month and it's interesting seeing all those!
