What do you mean by realistic?

This sirens sounds like a revival of the old GE Powercall sirens from the '70s. The intersection sounds were pretty good, I thought. the recording was kind of messed up.

Most of those sounds are what it sounds like striaght out of the controller, Only after has it been produced by a Siren Speaker or Driver would it sound realistic

While I was in charge of a project at school, we installed a Galls Powerslim controller in our car, it's basic, but enough for what we need

Yes, Fox is right - in the recordings we hear the square waves which do not sound the same coming out of siren speakers.

The MOST EFFECTIVE sound is simple WAIL.
The unexpecting ear catches it first before all other sounds.

Hi-Lo is so ineffective (but I like it) I believe it is banned in California.
I use Hi-Lo as a less obnoxious sound when travelling in backed-up interstate traffic, etc.

All these other sounds are fun, but a waste.
Some panic already startled drivers.

Airhorn is not as loud as WAIL, not perceived as well by the human ear,
and is rude. A farce when compared to a REAL AIR HORN.

Funny, but in the video, first heard and most effective was their Federal Q.
The electronic siren was totally unneeded - another expensive waste of money.

It is NOT good EV driving practice to divert one's attention switching siren modes. Just leave in the best sound - WAIL

WARBLE (YELP) was meant as a Civil Defense alert tone, not to be used as a traffic siren!

Nothing I have ever heard is better than Q2b and Dunbar-Nunn Unitrol.
Also, regular speakers are better than slim or compact speakers.
If they will fit, use the CHEAPER regular speakers.

Griff you have not gone for a run in a fire truck before. I don?t want to sound rude but allot of time you just need to get people out of the way and they don?t always respond to one sound.
The Fed Q is the best way to get peoples attention since its the loudest item on the truck besides the horns which is the second best defense to move stupid usaly cell phone motorist out of the way.
One thing you have to take in your mind is when these sirens whether it be a big siren, a truck, car, ambulance siren, that?s either electric or mechanical there?s one reason they are sounding and its cause some one is in trouble and needs help fast. And that?s their job to get their asp. I have been on ride alongs were the truck has had to go on the opposing side of the road against traffic you need all the sirens and sounds.
Wail - usually highway and back roads highways.
Hi-Lo- intersections or busy streets, heavy traffic
Yelp- good way to get people attention when they don?t move over-heavy traffic
Manual Wail- good to get peoples attention threw heavy traffic
The fast multiple yelps (sounds like phaser)-high speed or intersections

Only one sound is sufficient.
You are simply notifying that an EV is near.
The siren is merely a gimmick (tool) to draw gaze of unsuspecting people and hopefully they will maneuver to assist the EV.

The fire apparatus I drive has two sirens; Q and electronic something
and an airhorn.
It was a waste to buy two. (This stuff is all expensive and the taxpayers are paying for it.) (And we wasted a lot more money getting the Q in chrome. FedSig should be ashamed what they charge for a little chrome.)

Yes, the Q is loudest, though it does not allow voice "requests" - (never order/instruct anyone, if they have an accident, they may blame you), and the Q also spreads noise all over the place, disturbing everyone.

The electronic uses much less power; 1/10th, but is not as loud as a real
Q. But it does not spread out and bother those in their homes and businesses as much, either.

Both sounding together do not add in volume.
If you hear one, you need not also hear another.

I oppose all those other sounds.
Especially PHASER which is not discerned by the human ear as well as
simple WAIL.
Also, those kinds of sounds may PPPANIC some, making things worse.
And, you are diverting your attention from driving and looking for problems while switching siren modes.
If an accident or incident occurs, and they have a good lawyer, be prepared for a financial enema.

What would really be best:
A super clean, clear digital recording:"Emergenvy Vehicle, can you please move right?"
and "Emergency vehicle, can you please stop and yield"
for all those who do not know what to do.
