Siren ID?

I found some old siren hardware in my school building (built 1958). I figured you all here would know 10x more about it than me. What would this be used for, what's the CD logo, how would it have been triggered, what's the gray box for, would it still possibly work, and is it likely that the actual siren hardware is still out there on the roof somewhere?

What school is this at? Appears to be an RCM cabinet for a Thunderbolt siren.

With an FC radio attached no less (gray box). Is the siren still there? Makes me think it's still active since it has a new radio.

School is in Omaha Nebraska. I won't directly say the name of the school but there aren't many schools built in 1958.

Not sure if it's still there, the controller is but the noise making part could be far gone as far as I'm aware

The siren is likely not there anymore. The remaining tbolts all came down in 2004 when the T-128s went up. I have a strong feeling these are the cabinets from 1000 on the roof of Creighton Prep. Even if there was still a siren there, DCEMA stopped using FC radios in 2004.

You would be correct Daniel. The thunderbolt isn't there anymore. According to one of the maintenance guys it got taken down in the 90's - but somehow survived the tornado of '75. There's one of the newer ones out by the baseball field on its own pole so that's most likely the replacement. Really wish I could somehow take the controller and preserve it but I doubt that'll happen.

The siren was actually active until sometime around April 2004, when the T-128 went up. The platform for the siren is still on the roof. Its awesome to see that these exist. It makes me wonder if there are other places here in the city that have these.

This here is from the April 2004 satellite view, it has both sirens in it.

That was a baritone wailing 1000, Literally on Chopper level one. Painted brown, my grandpa lived down the street from it and remembers that 75 tornado and the early 60's tests of it for the first time. Spooky! Heres a vid of it and surrounding sirens near Cass sounding https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zL9l5USnv7g&t

It's insane that you all know all this specific info about the siren. Some day I'll try to go on the roof and look at it if I can. In the meantime Google Maps will have to do. Thank you all for your help!

Yes, and good luck to you on obtaining those cabinets! Me and Daniel both are from the Omaha Metro, so I am gonna try to contact some other schools and see if they still have those Cabinets too, along with buildings they were mounted on.
