Pretty much the majority of Washington's system (and surrounding areas) were at schools, with some exceptions being pump stations, FDs, Rec Centers, and Gov't buildings.

Here are a few that come to mind in the Indianapolis Metropolitan area.

2001-130 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in Carmel, IN
2001-130 at Crestview Elementary School in Indianapolis, IN
2001-SRN near Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, IN
2001-DC near Pike High School in Indianapolis, IN

There is also a 2001-130 at IFD station 21 roughly 900 feet away from where I attended Elementary and Middle School.
Indianapolis, IN native. Currently pursuing a major in Homeland Security with a minor in Disaster Management from Eastern Kentucky University.

This one isn't exactly on a school, but it is very near. This STH-10 is located near Hillview Elementary School and McCowin Park in Ammon, Idaho. The siren itself is mounted on a pole next to the pump building for one of the city's water tanks. The mounting job is quite poor, with a roof mount bracket being used for a pole. As far as I know, this siren is inactive, but was once used to direct residents to shut off sprinklers and other unnecessary water consumers, to make more pressure available for firefighting.

Oh dear goodness, When I was in 1st grade, I went to a school in Upper Darby, PA. There is a fire house with a Modulator Siren next to it. Every day, that siren would go off and interrupt class. It was very loud.
The school is a different school today, but I can imagine the looks on the kids faces who don’t know what a siren is..

This public school in Yonkers, NY, had a 500-DHTT on it once upon a time. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.9475314 ... 312!8i6656 It was sadly removed and likely scrapped
Sirens may not be sexy, but they sure work.

Franklin Co Ohio had a few roof mounted jailbar thunderbolts installed on schools. One was located on Columbus South HS and was removed in 2007-2008. One still remains inactive on the Ohio State School for the Blind. It is located here: 40.069607,-83.012221
