Sterling K-5s - Made in 1936?

Today I came across a picture on a historical pictures Facebook page of a town near me which shows a Sterling K-5 on the building in the picture. The Post mentions the siren was installed in April 1936. Was Sterling really making K-5s that early on? I understand they made the M series as early was the late 1910s or early 20s, but I didn’t envision the K series being made until the 40s or 50s, but not the 30s. I’m willing to bet it actually is that old given Sterling/Sentry’s long history, but I just want to confirm that.
