The following is a 13-minute edit chopped from a 3/4-inch tape-sourced 20-minute news recording I obtained of Pilgrim Nuclear Generating Station's old siren system being tested in voice, growl, and multiple times alert on the afternoon of September 29th, 1986. The exact siren model is unknown, as we never get to see it in the footage, but I'm guessing it *could be* a SiraTone (possibly a 408 or 612) given how Boston Edison liked their sirens of the time and what survives in the system today. Any more information is greatly appreciated, though. Enjoy.

That’s odd, it sound like an analog Whelen ESC-864. Amazing recording though!

No, sounds more like a pre-864 IMO. could be either a single tone siratone or a whelen pre-864. analog 864 has a more distinct windup rate. plus, if the video is from 1986, the analog 864 was not even in use at the time, and was still in development.

Really? I though single tone Siratones sounded different. Can you share a video of one?

I figured out that in 1986, Boston Edison’s warning system was all SiraTones: 115s and 408s. Given in the recording, the sirens fade in and out, there could be a 408 sounding on this recording.
