Another Fedelcode Model 1 found

Thu Jun 09, 2022 7:57 pm

So I was doing a bit of hunting, and decided to look on the other side of a town in Oregon called North Powder, that was already known to have an inactive Model 5, and I found this:

I believe this may be another rare Fedelcode Model 1! or Type 1, or Mach 1, I am not really sure. I am sure that these are very, very rare. Given that the Model 5 on the other side of town is inactive, this one might be inactive too, although the controls and pole look somewhat new, and the meter has not been pulled. I will contact the city about it to nail down if it is active or not.
Update: Comparing Bing and Google Maps Street View, it appears the electricity meter was upgraded from an analog one to a digital one sometime between 2012 and 2015, it's looking more and more like we have an active Model 1 on our hands!

Nice find! Are you going to try to record this going off or not?

Update again: I got a reply from the FD, and unfortunately it is inactive, but it is still hooked up if they ever need to use it.

Maybe ask very nicely if they could set it off for you...

It’s a 5 hour drive from me, so I don’t think I’m gonna be driving out there just for the Fedelcode… :?
But if I’m ever planning a trip to the area, I will definitely contact the FD and ask about it again!
