ATI Systems sirens made in China?

Tue Aug 02, 2022 9:50 pm

I was looking in Alibaba for some tornado sirens to mess around with. Saw some sirens that look like the ATI Systems sirens. Does anyone know where they actually manufacture these sirens? I know their website says they are in Boston... but those look like the Chinese ones. Looking for any links that I can order for cheaper ATI Systems sirens made from China.

ATI manufactures its controllers and equipment in the US. They source the horns from DKTec in Taiwan. I can't recall the exact model of the horn, but it and similar horns like it have existed on the market from various companies, both in Taiwan, China, and other areas around the world, since at least the 1980s. I recall seeing an advertisement a while back from a Swiss or Finnish company that used those horns, and the advert dated back to 1981. ASC also does this with the E-Class, and so did Hormann America/ASI with their HA series.
