Hi all,

I've been trying to use the Whelen SDPTS software to troubleshoot my Whelen esc-2020, however when I click extract/request, the program shuts down.

I was curious if anyone has any experience with this issue, or if anyone has some possible solutions.

Thanks,

-Brendan

sounds like the program might not be seeing what it wants & just exits instead of throwing an error. maybe a driver issue or something? (windows driver not speaker driver). Does the program spit out a log file or anything?

What version of Windows are you using, and how is the ESC-2020 interfacing with your computer? USB or Serial?

I just updated windows, now up to date on windows 10. I'm using a com-port to usb cord.

I've had weird issues with those cables sometimes. maybe thats what your problem is?

has the cord worked before?

Don't know, I just bought it off Amazon for this particular purpose. When I go into my devices it says it working normally, but thats about it. I think I have an old laptop sitting around that still has a com port, so maybe that would work

Problem has been solved.

The com to usb cable was set by default to com 3, where the USB port was set to com 1.

Changing the cable to com 1 solved the issue
