Hello,

This topic is dedicated to the William Howard School Speaker System in Cumbria. It is used during fire drills to organise the staff and students. There are at least 6 speakers in the system on the artificial grass turf, where the fire assembly point is located. When I acquire any I will upload higher quality images here. The speakers themselves seem to be of at least 2 different models and manufacturers, and seem to be relatively old, as inferred from the amount of physical abuse they have received from years of hard rain, stray footballs, etc.

If you know anything about this system, don’t hesitate to add it to this topic!

Thanks

I went around the grounds last night after the school day because the gates were open, and I discovered that there are in fact 9 speakers in the system. It was very cold, I spent over 15 minutes walking around taking photos; it was hard to get a good shot because the speakers were literally shaking in the high winds. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the last speaker, so I will try to upload that sometime in the near future. I also found an old school bell, which was pretty cool. On the plus side, I did get to see a nice sunset.
Anyway, here are the images:

These appear to be used for sports PA - either way, very neat find!

My school has something similar to that! There are speakers along the outside of the school, which broadcast the bells, but they also sound tones to let the students and teachers know it's safe to come in after an evacuation (fire drill, fire alarm). The school also has strobe lights that flash in the event of a lockdown or lockout.
