Sentry Sirens In Australia

Thu Mar 16, 2023 10:54 am

Hey all,

This week me and HX56 did some digging to find more about the Sentry sirens here in Australia. We looked back into Santos Moomba Gas Plant in Gidgealpa, SA and found that there was three 16V1T-Bs in the site. I was able to find some documentation of the Plant that had the sirens hiding in plain sight. Santos purchased the sirens sometime after 2004. The Moomba Sentry 16V1T-Bs were installed in 2008 after the gas plant exploded in 2004. You'll notice all three have half of the horns are missing but this is due to the request that the sound (what we assume) is to project into the Plant. Santos also purchased 2 more Sentry 16V1T-Bs in Port Bonython in June 2015 and were installed in October 2015. We haven't much documentation that had these sirens in the shots unfortunately.

Santos Moomba:
-28.11117, 140.20662
-28.11448, 140.20769
-28.10973, 140.20273

Santos Port Bonython:
-32.99043, 137.76463
-32.98895, 137.77095

Hello, fellow siren enthusiasts. I am losing interest, but will be back on the board from time to time.
